Most late-model Honda and Acura manual transmission vehicles have what is called a Clutch Damper (or Clutch Dampening Diaphragm), which is there to subdue tiny vibrations that permeate through the clutch pedal. These vibrations mainly stem from the release bearing (throw-out bearing) when it engages the pressure plate, but are very minimal and often not an issue by driving enthusiasts' standards.

This factory clutch damper becomes a problem though, as it is prone to leaking or even blowing out completely.
